Our retail store is the backbone of our business. We specialize in four acres of quality nursery stock. With the large selection available we carry some unusual specimen plants. Perennials are given a separate greenhouse to accommodate the selection of one gallon and two gallon sized pots that we grow here.
In our three other greenhouses we grow all our container hanging baskets plus the seasonal plants such as poinettias. In our mum field we grow our own fall mums in extra large tubs. Bedding plants in the spring and summer are displayed in our retail yard. We grow our own 6" and 8" pots for special extra color.
Our store has two greenhouses for retail houseplant sales. Our department has expanded to very unusual and higher quality products for which we are the only outlet in the area.
We provide our own label grass seed and zero phosphate fertilizers.
Mohawk Gardens is a large distibutor of Grinnell paving stones and Windsor and Diamond wall block. Most varieties are stocked here, but the large orders are shipped through Grinnell trucks after placing an order with us.
An increasing part of our business is the aquatic department . Although we have carried liners , fish and aquatic plants for many years the industry has increased and we have expanded along with it. Filters, pumps, lights, foods and pond chemicals are available. Rubber liners are sold on rolls by the foot so that you can easily get the correct size for your pond.
